Chingford All Time Greats

The Chingford All Time Greats are simply the top 10 batsmen and the top 10 bowlers in Chingford Cricket Club history.

Qualification is determined by

·        Runs scored for Chingford and

·        Wickets taken for Chingford

The Club website contains scorecards for all elevens going all the way back to the Club’s founding in 1903, which are complete for many years.

Extensive work over several years has taken place in terms of:

• Loading every available scorecard/scorebook we can find to the Club website
• Comprehensive research of the National Newspaper Archives investigating local papers where Chingford were the home team and the corresponding local papers for where Chingford were the away team.

The above research is now complete but our records are not, therefore the next stage will be to see if any of our opponent Clubs have archives of old scorebooks that may help plug the gaps. This work is ongoing and any scorecards recovered will in turn be added to the website.

Finally, I unreservedly apologise to anyone whose totals are understated or who is missing from the list.

The Chingford All Time Greats XI play very occasional fixtures and selection for the side is strictly based on positions within the table above.
