A Review of the 1922 Season


Very little is known of the 1922 season.

 

In the First Eleven records remain of 7 fixtures which include 2 victories and no defeats. Bill Riding hit 230 runs in 5 innings while the star bowlers Bill Adamson took 20 wickets in all cricket and WF Barkas 17.

 

From the 2nd Eleven fixtures, performances of note were, in the Woodford Wells game 65 from opener RH Harwood, 51* from number 10 Davies.

 

Records survive of two Thursday XI fixtures v Woodford Thursday, in the latter JH scored an impressive 109.

 

John Riding, who had been Secretary combined the job with that of Fixture Secretary following the retirement of Arthur Dagnall from that position.
