Match report Chingford turned to ginger power as an inexperienced side took on Ardleigh Green at the Met Police.

Stand in skipper Mike Blake lost the toss but Cookie with 50 and Jonathan North (30) saw us off to a flier with 90 on the board without loss. Nadir Noori (49) , David Behling (35) and Tom Patmore(20) all hit the ball well, enabling an early declaration on 218-8. Incidentally Ardleigh Green old campaigner Graham Harris took all eight, but at tea time was cursing me because he'd never taken all 10 and I'd declared 6 overs early ! Sorry Graham !!

In reply we kept things tight early on but our resident ginger , Mr Haigh led the way with 4-15. Mike Blake and Steve Tall weighed in with two apiece and with Alfie and Nadir taking one each , Green were 67 all out.

All in all a great performance, and everyone contributed. Special thanks go to Paul Hart for his help in organising the side, when as 3rd XI vice captain, it wasn't really his job.

Pipey Takes 8 at Chingford

The 5th XI suffered a heavy defeat against Chingford 4th XI despite a remarkable bowling performance by Pipey Harris. Chingford score 218 for 8 from 46 overs with all eight wickets falling to Pipey. Sadly the batting didn't measure up to the challenge and Green were dismissed for a meagre 63.
