Born in Lancashire but brought up in Montserrat. After leaving school in the West Indies, he joined the British Army and became a Physical Training Instructor.
After success in Services cricket, and for the Dortmund club in Germany, the all-rounder had a trial with Glamorgan in 1990. He then spent the next two years on Glamorgan`s staff, playing in three one-day games and one first-class match in 1992, against Oxford University at the Parks.
