A Review of the 1927 Season
1927 saw the Club field four elevens, 1st 2nd and A on Saturdays and a Thursday eleven and subscriptions were £2 2s per annum.

Bob Taylor was the Captain and Freddie Fedrick was top run scorer with 690. WF Barkas had another outstanding year with 445 runs – including 102 v Amehurst - and 100 wickets, including 7 in each of the 1st XI matches with Buckhurst Hill and Epping
In the Seconds, Stan Kitchener took a hat trick in a fine spell of 6-11 in the victory against Highams Park – and overall he took 63 wickets.
Cricket week saw every game won, and Bill Adamson had a field day with the ball with 7 wickets v George Underhill’s XI, 7 v Old Collegians, 5 v Hertford and 4 v Amehurst in the four games he played in !
The name Len Parslow, appeared in the scorebook for the first time, and he topped the batting averages at 33.5, with 504 runs, including 104 for the 2s v Westcliff
William Sandrock was emerging as a real talent with 62 wickets at 9 apiece, including 8-29 for the A XI v Buckhurst Hill. Gerry Richardson also had an 8 wicket haul – in the AXI match v ASA Banks.
In the Lawn Tennis Club, the Pettingall- Norbury Trophy was not awarded. The Cornish Challenge Cups went to Mrs Mercer and Mr E Way. The Doubles Winners were as follows:
