Details of only five Sunday matches remain, where there were 3 wins and two defeats.
The Cricket Week Fixture List saw an interesting match scheduled v Tottenham Hotspur on 8 August, although sadly it appears this match was replaced at the last minute by opposition in the shape of Mr GP Parker’s XI !
Len Parslow (815) and William Sandrock (795) were the leading run scorers and (Roy Williams are you reading ??!!!) scored 89* and 88* respectively as the Thursday XI replied with 189 for nought in reply to Woodford’s 240-4
Norman Hood scored the season’s only century with 108 for the 1st XI v Shoeburyness Garrison.
Leading the wicket-takers were Stan Kitchener and Gordon Downes with 68 and 67 wickets respectively , while Bill Adamson picked up 59
Three bowlers took 7 wicket hauls: Bill Adamson 7-32 v Romford and 7-48 v Cheshunt, Stan Kitchener 7-27 v Gidea Park 2nd XI, Don Spencer 7-44 v Walthamstow Thursday and F Parslow and A Hipkin both took 7 v Woodford Thursday in different fixtures.
Norman Tyrrell was again Tennis Captain although the season’s results are unknown.
