We have received the very sad news that Bill Cashmore has passed away today (9 November) and our thoughts are with Bill's family.
Bill scored over 5800 runs (the 52nd highest tally in Club history) for the Club as an opening batsmen who played mainly in the 1980s and 1990s. The author remembers one season when he opened with Phil Joslin and three consecutive games were won by 10 wickets.
Bill was an actor by trade, setting up a highly successful company called Actors in Industry from scratch and appeared several times on the television in various shows. Everyone appreciated Bill's wonderful sense of humour and he delivered several hilarious speeches at Club Suppers over the years. Bill will be sorely missed.
