We need to be able to hire out our indoor cricket school to help raise funds for the rebuild of the clubhouse. However, as you all know, the roof leaks, the floor covering is worn and slippery in places, it's cold and the nets have to be rolled out of the way by hand every time we want to use the school as one big sports hall (watch Mark Campbell's video)!
We have applied to the London Marathon Charitable Trust for a grant so that we can replace the roof and install a suitable heating system, but whether or not our grant application is successful, we really need to replace the current floor with multi-sports flooring and replace the current nets with a retractable nets system. This will enable the school to be used for other activities like Walking Football, Zumba classes, yoga and so on and enable us to hire out the school to local community groups which will raise funds for the clubhouse rebuild. Remember that we have a potential donation for the clubhouse rebuild of £500,000 but we need to raise the remainder ourselves.
We have set up a Crowdfunder appeal to help us raise funds to pay for the new flooring and the retractable nets system. Please help us to achieve our target of £10,000. Sport England have pledged a donation of £4,000 towards this total but only if we raise the rest ourselves. If we don't hit our £10,000 target all pledges will be returned to the people that made them and the club will get nothing.
Here is the link to our Crowdfunder appeal. Please pledge your donation now to help us reach our target so that we can get the cricket school refurbished to make it more attractive and easier to use for people wanting to hire it.
Please pass the link on to friends and family, letting them know how important this is to you and the club. We really don't want to miss the chance of securing the £4000 from Sport England.
Some companies will match fund donations made by employees, so please ask at work whether they run a match funding scheme and if they would match your donation, if we reach our target.
