Those who were around in the 1960s,70s and 80s will no doubt remember Peter Jouning of Southgate CC. Peter has written a book called 196 Declared, where he talks about the 196 cricket grounds he played on.
Included is a story of him playing one day at Chingford, having dropped his wife off at the hospital to give birth on the way to the ground !!
It is a very good read and will be of interest to those who appreciated the way Club Cricket always used to be and can be purchased via Amazon.
Interestingly we have a few stalwarts who could probably beat the 196. Whilst not a player, Superfan Clive Wildish reliably informs me he has watched cricket at a staggering 334 grounds !!
