We have received the sad news of the passing of Shakeel Kadri who died in his sleep on the night of Thursday 17 April
Shakeel made 356 appearances for Chingford between 1988 and 2007 and scored 4436 runs in his unique flamboyant batting style and also took 376 wickets before his cricketing career was sadly ended by an unfortunate accident on a building site. Prior to this Shakeel had successfully completed a number of London Marathons and was previously, like a number of others from the Club, an employee for LBWF at the Town Hall, Walthamstow before venturing out into his own business.
Our sincerest condolonces go out to Shakeel's wife Kalpana and his family at this difficult time.
