We are greatly saddened to hear of the passing of Jim Mitchell.
Jim was the Groundsman at Chingford CC for many years and following his retirement from the role continued to support the Club as a Patron. In recent times Jim could often be seen at the Club on a matchday enjoying a pint or two of his favourite bitter.
Jim's talents were not just confined to cricket pitches as he was a brilliant singer and spent lots of his spare time performing gigs which always attracted a good audience, including many performed at the Club - which helped considerably with fundraising.
Our heartfelt sympathies go out to the Mitchell family at this difficult time.
