Chingford Cricket Club Sat 5th v Hainault and Clayhall on Sat 19 Jun 2010 at 1:00
Match was Drawn

Match report The visit of Hainault & Clayhall gave the 5th’s a chance to get back to winning ways. Things started well with Bill winning the toss and deciding to bowl. However, for once the 5th’s bowling failed to contain the very strong Hainult opening batsmen. Everything the 5th’s could throw at them (only the keeper didn’t bowl) was dealt with in the same way, despite a rain interruption, Hainault piled on 305 in 41 overs.
A daunting task lay ahead for the 5th’s batting and last weeks opening bowlers found themselves as the opening batsmen this week. The new partnership proved to be successful with a solid 28 from Kash and Blakeys second 50 for the 5th’s this year. Although there was a worrying mini collapse, Steve Tall came in and steadied the ship with an impressive 30. The draw was secured and Hainault were left to regret their decision to continue to bat after the rain interruption.
