Bentley v Chingford Cricket Club Sat 3rd on Sat 23 Apr 2005 at 1330
Chingford Cricket Club Lost 58 runs

Match report We agreed to a 40 overs a side match with 8 overs maximum per bowler. This did not stop Cookie bowling a 9 over spell. Michael Blake bowled 8 overs without ever bowling his customary loosener. Our fielding was not at its best, particulalry when Queenie was bowling. Carey would not have looked out of place today. They scored at a consistant rate throughout their innings. Some good late bowling by Carver, stopped them posting a score nearer 250.
Their score did not seem out of reach to a Chingford batting line up that needed a good start. Miles and Roy managed an opening stand of 67 at around 4 runs an over. However, the momentum was not built as both of them and Mark Campbell fell. Woodland and Carver rebuilt but could not stop the asking rate climbing to 7 and 8 an over. Most of the rest of the batting fell in an effort to chase a win which had long since slipped from our grasp.
Man of the Match: Do we have to have one?
