Match report As a rare treat, Chingford won the toss and elected to field first, hoping to chase down a total using their strong batting line-up.
The two Richards opened the bowling against a strong looking opening pair. Both bowled well and Offord in particular utilised the quick, bouncy track. Hutton's batsman all contributed, aided by some slack fielding. Their skipper (who opened the batting) reached a century, after being dropped twice. Peter Shawer found his rhythm after a ropey opening over and Carver's figures could have been very tidy, had he not suffered an expensive final over. Hutton reached a very respectable 256 for 5 and declared in the penultimate over.

Myles opened with Chippie and he started in his usual flamboyant style against a spin attack and survived a couple of chances, before being needlessly run-out on 16. Chippie played a responsible innings against the best bowling attack we've faced all Summer and made 58 inspite of receiving a bouncer to the side of his head, sans helmet! His innings was assisted by a quick-fire 20 from Joslin and a useful 38 from Paul Canham, before the latter played down the wrong line and was bowled. Chingford then suffered a fairly spectacular collapse with four batsmen getting ducks. Dan Carver batting at number 8 dropped anchor to try and scratch out a draw, but wickets fell about him, as Hutton bowled with real aggression with late swing! Chinford eventually bowed out at 175, losing by 81 runs.
