Match report Chingford lost the toss and were asked to bat first on a slow track with variable bounce, which produced some false shots throughout the afternoon. Nasser was out for a duck and then Peters and Woodland struggled for half an hour or so, before Graem was beaten by a very good delivery. David Joslin batted in his customary style and hit a quick-fire 37 and was joined by Carver after Woodland fell. Together they increased the run-rate, before Joslin lost his wicket. Coulson then joined Carver at the crease and both played with some measured aggression. Carver reached his half -century, but was tricked by a held-back delivery soon afterwards. Coulson eventually fell on 39 and Offord made another cameo of 14 not out. Chingord had scored a respectable enough 206, although this could have been improved on, had any of the batsmen that made starts gone on to score a big fifty or a hundred.

Offord and Coulson opened the bowling. Offord bowled a tight line and length, but Coulson was suffering with a recurring side strain and eventually had to leave the field. Chris Baldock bowled a useful spell and was unlucky not to make a breakthrough. Queenie was the most lucrative of our bowling attack and used the conditions to suit him. Cookie, back after a four week absence was a little rusty, but bowled a useful second spell after Harlow's batsmen had shut-up shop for the afternoon. Inspite of a number of bowling changes, we couldn't get the final three wickets and had to settle for a draw, which nevertheless yielded 11 points.
