Match report We lost the toss and were asked to bat but soon Roy of the Rivers (67) was smashing it around all over the place. The momentum was maintained in the middle order with first Steve Hart (16) followed by the big hitting Drew Campbell who hit a whirlwind 73 to set up a big Chingford score. It was encouraging to see Nadir Noori score his first 50 for the Club with some lovely strokeplay - one for the future here 1st and 2nd XI readers! Campbers was persuaded by the senior pros that we didn't want to be out on the park at 7.30 in the cold wind so he called a halt at 237-5.

Mike Blake took 2-7 in 12 overs to put Upminster's backs against the walls but Paul Hart was warming up right from the start. Eventually he talked his way on and a wobbly looked on when his first over went for 8, but once he took his first wicket he settled down to bowl a superb line and length and with the aid of two splendid one handed Roy of the Rivers slip catches, Queenie bagged himself a nice little 6 for 17. Obviously thinking of his average (Mr Peters) I suspect we won't see him again in the 4s. Alfie Taylor fortunately picked up 2 at the end to save the Club bar patrons from hearing repeated match reports from Paul and Upminster were all out for 56 with 1 hour 50 minutes to spare.
