Match report Peter Joslin, an experienced indoor player, came in for David Joslin adding strength to the bowling. They had a very good young cricketer who opened the batting and got to his 25 with ease. Nasser did pick up an early wicket, but the third batsman managed to hang about. Their middle order struggled to score at a decent rate, particularly off Dan Carver who again turned in the sides best bowling performance. However, the number three got to his 25, retired and came back out to bat, quickly finding himself in as the last man with five wickets down. Just when it looked as though we might keep them to about 90, he took a liking to Nasser's last over and we were left needing 112 to win.
Richard Alston went early on, but Graem came in and scored quickly, running well with Dan. With the half way point approaching, Chingford were up with the run rate and looking good at 50-1. However, the running broke down when Graem backed up too far and failed to make his ground. Peter Joslin wasn't able to make an impact, Nasser Rashid came and went and when Dan was out for a patient 19. Stephen Thorne was left with the task of ensuring we used all 12 overs and got as close to their score as possible. He got us to 76 before being last out run out. Therefore we ended up with no bonus points.
