Match report Chingford won the toss and fielded. Excellent early bowling from Alex Gordon and Beth MacGregor with a wicket apiece put Chingford on top but although Rob O'Leary also bowled tightly the Roding Valley batsmen recovered and due to some good running between the wickets managed to post a challenging score of 92. The score would have been even higher if it had not been for some inspired bowling at the death by Beaduen French-Boyce who bowled full and straight and managed to bowl four of their batsmen with the last wicket falling from the last ball of the innings.

In reply Beth MacGregor quickly got into her stride before probably the key moment of the innings when she was run-out when a comfortable three should have been scored. The combination of a near mid-pitch collision with her batting partner, Andrew MacGregor, and a direct hit on the wickets by the fielder meant Beth was just short of gaining her ground. Rob O'Leary came in next and also scored 8 runs before being stumped. Roding Valley bowled well, in particular their leg-spinner got very high bounce and a lot of turn which made things very difficult for the batsmen. After Jack Hodges was out for 0, Beauden French-Boyce came in and put on a good partnership with Andrew MacGregor. However the asking rate was continually increasing and once Andrew was out for 19 with two overs left 34 runs were still needed. Some brave hitting by Beauden who scored 25 before being out off the last ball of the innings enabled Chingford to make a respectable score but the team fell short of their target by 21 runs. Beauden French-Boyce was man of the match for his extremely impressive overall performance.
