Match report Chingford captain Beth MacGregor won the toss and put unbeaten Havering atte Bower into bat. A wicket in the first over from Alex Gordon, who bowled excellently, put the pressure on and when Beauden French-Boyce took the second wicket in the next over Chingford were firmly on top. Two further wickets from Beauden in the fourth over gave him the brilliant figures of 3 for 4 and left Havering reeling. Good tight bowling from Beth MacGregor and Jack Hodges maintained the pressure but the last pair of batsmen started to put a reasonable partnership together. Rob O'Leary and Andrew MacGregor then came on to bowl with Rob cleaning out the last two batsmen giving him the superb figures of 2 for 0 and leaving Havering all out for 55 off 10.1 overs.

The opening bowlers for Havering were quite quick and their tall 13 year old captain bowled with skill and pace. However Chingford's opening pair of Andrew and Beth MacGregor put on 50 for the first wicket to all but win the match and it was left to Alex Gordon and Jack Hodges to finish off the victory chase in the eighth over. Beth MacGregor retired for 30 including three sixes and a four, putting the Havering bowlers to the sword. Andrew MacGregor showed guts and determination to see off the opposition's best and quickest opening bowler (including hitting him straight back for four) and made an equally important contribution to the opening partnership.

A tremendous win over the top side in the division with all the players contributing excellent performances. The Chingford supporters thoroughly enjoyed both the win and the manner of victory against good opposition.
