Match report Forest Gate Com won the toss and put Chingford in to bat. After 3 overs the Chingford innings was in tatters at 11 for 3 with Beth MacGregor, Beauden French-Boyce and Alex Gordon all out. A total of around only 20 looked potentially on the cards but a superb partnership by Rob O'Leary and Andrew MacGregor put on about 60 in the next 8 overs before Rob retired for 28 after hitting a straight six. Jack Hodges helped Andrew continue the momentum before Jack was run out with two balls of the innings to go. Andrew then hit a straight four before being caught off the last ball. An excellent recovery which provided Chingford with a reasonably competetive score.

In reply Forest Gate Com got off to a fast start with the first wicket pairing putting on about 40 off the first 4 overs before one of the openers retired for 25. Andrew MacGregor then came on to take the pace off the ball with his off-spin supported by Jack Hodges and Rob O'Leary. The tactic worked as both wickets and the run-rate fell; two catches behind the stumps by Beauden, a catch off the side wall and two run-outs by Alex Gordon giving excellent support to the bowlers. Beth MacGregor stepped up to bowl the final over with three runs needed by Forest Gate Com and 1 wicket by Chingford.

The first ball went for a bye leaving two runs required. The next ball was hit against the side wall and the batsmen ran but Andrew MacGregor swooped on the ball and threw the ball to Beauden French-Boyce behind the stumps who ran out the last man to leave the game tied.

An exciting game that saw Chingford twice come back strongly from poor positions. This result ensured that Chingford U13s end their indoor season in third place in the division with a record of 4 wins, 1 tie and 2 losses. An excellent achievement given they were playing in a higher division than last year.

The side played as a team with all players contributing regularly and on many occasions produced some exciting and brilliant cricket which augurs well for the 2006 outdoor season.
