Chingford Cricket Club Indoor Sun Eve v Roding Valley on Sun 06 Nov 2005 at 17:00
Chingford Cricket Club Lost 6 wickets

Match report The Premiership campaign got under way on Sunday at Waltham Abbey. Amongst the team news was Peter Joslin failing a late fitness test and with Shakeel Kadri joining him on the sidelines Mark Campbell and Steven Thorne, with proven Premiership experience came into the side.

Chingford had 25 on the board within 3 overs but a strange run out saw Mark Campbell out for 14 and on the next ball Peter Tarrant tried to hit one into the spectators gallery only to miss by just a few inches and be caught off the rebound. Rhoneocerous was going well on 17 but he too was caught off the wall and then Steven Thorne, was just run out Nick Thorpe beamed up for 6 leaving Michael Blake (12) to bat alone and steer Chingford to 61. Crucially 2 and a half overs remained unused.

This sort of total wasn’t likely to trouble last year’s Champions unless earlier wickets could be obtained. Chingford never got close to a wicket as Roding Valley romped home on 62-0. Luckily this game wasn't the one selected for live TV coverage !

Chingford will now be looking to follow the example of Everton FC and move up the Premiership in the coming weeks
