Match report The first game of the season for the under 15's and a nail-biting tie in a game they could and should have won, having dominated most of it. Alfie won the toss and put them in, and Sam was impressive in his opening spell, bowling Sikka with a corker with his second ball. Alfie's leg breaks were turning square, and only the experienced G James, who went on to make 51, was able to deal with the opening pair. Some lively fielding from the whole team saw three run outs and two catches. G James retired on 25 and returned at the end to score his half century, which proved in the end to be the match-saver for Roding Valley.

Anthony's and Charlie's steady and productive opening stand for Chingford looked like it would set up the victory. Charlie and then Sam were run out chasing runs, and the youngest members of the team, Jay and Will, came in and showed some promising touches before both being bowled by the wily G James. After Alfie was out to a good catch behind, Anthony, with a controlled 33, looked to be steering Chingford to a good win when he was given out to a controversial LBW decision with just one run needed to win.

A slightly disappointing end, but plenty to be pleased about in what was not just the first match of the season for the under 15's, but their first match ever indoors.
