Chingford Cricket Club Lost 11 Runs

Match report This was the first time that most of the team had played indoor cricket and they were up against an Ilford team that had played together the year before. Chingford skipper Andrew MacGregor won the toss and put Ilford in to bat. An excellent all-round performance in the field saw Ilford bowled out for 76 with William Armstrong-Fox taking two wickets, a catch and achieving a direct hit run-out. William was well supported by a tight spell from Andrew MacGregor and a two wicket haul by Alfie Leachman. Andrew Kelly took a catch and Daniel Lawrence bowled well often getting both turn and bounce.

In reply Daniel Lawrence and Andrew MacGregor were out quickly leaving Chingford on 4 for 2. Although Ben Gordon and William Armstrong-Fox built a good partnership to bring Chingford back in with a chance of victory, Ilford's greater experience of indoor cricket told in the end and they ran out winners by the margin of 11 runs.

Overall an excellent first outing for the side which saw several players show great promise for the future.
