Match report A game which fluctuated one way and then the other ended with honours even.

Upminster took first knock and the Chingford bowlers were well on top with Blake leading the way with 3 wickets including a superb "1st xl" one handed slip catch by Roy of the Rivers. The drinks interval was a turning point at 50-4 after 26 as Upminster, batting all the way down, transformed their innings to reach 210-7 with some excellent batting. Also amongst the wickets were Coulson and Hart with 2 a piece.

Sanjay soon took control of Chingfords reply and with him smashing shots around the ground in a superb 59, we were 89-0 with 1 hour 50mins to go.89 prioved a bogey number as Roy of the Rivers who had given good support to Sanjay was caught and then Woodland was out first ball. Momentum was lost as first Rashid and then Campbell steadily built up the momentum again before Campbell shouldered arms to a straight one, Fletcher style.At 160-8 it looked like the best we could hope fotr was a draw but a mature innings from Charlie Rouse and some lusty blows from Paul Hart took us on to 190 before Hart was run out. In the last couple of oversc the game petered out to a draw with Chingford close to victory, but with only 1 wicket standing - an enjoyable game .
