Hockerill v Chingford Cricket Club Sat 4th on Sat 29 Apr 2006 at 2.00
Chingford Cricket Club Lost 6 wickets

Match report Chingford buoyed by the inclusion of our hero Roy of The Rivers in their squad elected to take first knock on a good batting surface.

Mainstay of the innings was Coyte with an impressive 73 before a touch of cramp resulted in him being run out at a vital stage of the innings. Woodland made a useful 23 and with double figure contributions from Harborne and Barnett Chingford totalled a competitive 180-8.

With Hockerill at 70-4 Chingford looked favourites with Harborne having bowled well to capture 2-16. A lack of bowling resources coupled with some dropped catches saw Chingford struggling to defend their total as the Hockerill skipper, a good batsman hit an unbeaten 75 in a 110 run partnership to win the game.

Still an enjoyable game and nice hospitality , only worry being the Dukes ball which ended the game looking like a cross between and old potato and something the dog had had. A worrying symptom for the League campaign ahead of us.
