Enfield v Chingford Cricket Club Sun B on Sun 07 May 2006 at 2:00
Match was Drawn

Match report Enfield won the toss and elected to bat on a good batting surface. Chingford's early bowling was tight and with the score in the forties after an hour's play 2 wickets fell in quick succession, the second to a superb slip catch by Ross off Thorne's first ball. Thorne bowled the rest of the innings maintaining a good line and length to capture a well deserved 5-72. At the other end Behling bowling in tandem also did well and Enfield gave a fair declaration on 206-7

In reply we lost an early wicket but Joyce was in belligerent mood crashing boundary after boundary and reaching his 50 with the most magnificent six over the sightscreen off a full toss. Luckily my car was just a bit further up the road ! Joyce was bowled for 60 but had given us a good platform and Ross (38) and Hart (12) kept up the good work till both went with the score 133. Faced with rebuilding the innings and an increasing run rate Chingford lost momentum although Baldock played well for an unbeaten 33. In the end neither side would give way and the correct result - a draw with honours even resulted.

A decent afternoon's cricket played on a superb ground with nice opponents
