Match report In extremely hot conditions Uxbridge elected to take first knock on a good batting surface. Rashid claimed 2 early wickets as Chingford's opening bowlers restricted Uxbridge to less than 60 in the first hour.Harry Piper bowled a lively spell, following this up with a vital catch in the deep and a run out as Chingford defended well to limit Uxbridge to 200-6 at 4.50pm

In reply Peters and Joslin went off like a train before the former was caught behind for 43. Fernandopulle kept up the momentum with a well struck 32, while Joslin was scoring freely to carry his bat for an unbeaten 105 in his first knock of the season. Allain hit a nice boundary as Chingford made it home with 7 wickets in hand.

An old fashioned time game played between two senior clubs evenly matched Sunday second xis , a rare treat these days and it was wonderful to see the opposition stayed for a few drinks and to socialise with us in the bar. ( I hope they enjoyed my waffle!) Uxbridge were great opposition and let's hope we can play them again next year
