Match report A first defeat for the fifth team in a low-scoring match we should have won. Blackheath chose to bat on a slightly dodgy wicket, but their hard-hitting openers put on 90 for the first wicket before their top scorer was run out. Charlie came on first change and soon struck, eventually taking 6 wickets, including 3 in 4 balls, with the ball swinging nicely. Jay took 2 catches and hit the stumps for a smart run out, and Blackheath collapsed to 139 all out. This was a good bowling and fielding performance after a shaky start. This was a total well within our scope, but apart from Vidi with 22 and Kerry with a robust 48, nobody else troubled the scorers much, and we fell well short. Five ducks tells the tale!
