Chingford Cricket Club Indoor Sat C v Walthamstow B on Sat 17 Feb 2007 at 8.40
Chingford Cricket Club Lost 75 runs

Match report 5 players took the field for a match that was probably the relegation decider. Chingford won the toss and chose to bowl. Peek's line let him down a bit as the oppos got off to a quick start. Rashid caused the batters problems, regularly finding the edge. At least two catches would have been comfortable for 1st slip. He did pick up a wicket with Hayden taking a catch off the cealing. The second wicket pair both reached their 25s in good time. The lower order contined the momentum against Coulson and Hayden. Being a fielder short is never easy. Yet to be honest, the extra fielder would not have made much difference. Walthamstow demonstrated how to bat indoos by pushing the ball into the gaps and running. In their entire innings I don't remember any batter attempting to hit to the back wall. We did well to pick up late wickets, thanks to run outs.
Peek and Hayden struggled against an opening bowler who skippered their A team last season. Hayden allowed his patience to get the better of him and swatted across a straight ball. Peek showed good determination to get to his 25. Coulson looked comfortable until he edged to the keeper. Peters was run out in a mis up with Rashid. Peek returned and was stumped.
2 matches remain. If we win both and other results go our way, we can avoid relegation.
