Match report Chingford batted first and started well enough. Scoring runs was hard going and wickets fell regularly through the innings. Thankfully, Alfie Leachman was on hand to steady the inning and ensure we used all our 12 overs.
Buckhurst Hill were better at keeping wickets intact. Daniel Lawrence did strike in his first spell but the batting side were always scoring quickly enough. This was until Harry Holdsworth came on the bowl. In his 2 overs he bowled a very tight line and got the ball to swing into the batters. He deserved more than the one wicket he took. With 2 overs to go, Buckhurst Hill suddenly found themselves well behind the asking rate. Holdsworth had one over left, so too did Ben Gordon. Skipper Lawrence plumped for Gordon who then unfortunatly did not bowl as straight as he had earlier. By the time the last over started Hill only needed 4 runs to win and Lawrence was not going to stop them reaching the target.
