Chingford Cricket Club Won 11 Runs

Match report Chingford won the toss and unusually decided to bat first. A steady start of about 20 off the first 4 overs was interrupted when Andrew MacGregor was bowled. Beth MacGregor and Alex Gordon continued building the score before Alex was out closely followed by William Russell and Ben Gordon. Beth completed her 25 before being run out and then ran with William Armstrong-Fox (17 not out) who batted sensibly to use up the overs and post a decent score of 89.

In reply tight early bowling from Alex Gordon and Beth MacGregor put Havering behind the asking rate but at the half way point they had 37 on the board and all 6 wickets in hand. The key 7th over was bowled by Andrew MacGregor and saw three wickets fall. One to a run-out by William Armstrong-Fox and two to sharp catches by Ben Gordon and Alex Gordon. From this point Chingford were in control and with Alex Gordon taking a wicket in the 11th over Havering were left to get 16 runs off the last over with 2 wickets in hand. Beth MacGregor returned for her third over and went for only 4 runs leaving Chingford victorious by 11 runs.
