Match report Chingford were put into bat on a reliable even pitch with a well maintained and fast scoring outfield. Jabbari and Woodcock got things off to a solid start, before a slight wobble, including Noori bowled offfering no shot left us at 60 for 4. A solid partnership between Coulson who was increasingly scorign freely and North put us on track towards 200. Unfortunately Coulson was bowled with a hundred in his sights, but some aggressive late hitting from Hill, Campbell and Canham took us to over 220. Some Billericay players were heard to suggest we were too generous with our declaration, but we do believe in positive play. This seemed more than the Billericay batsmen were set for, although on the easy paced wicket defensive play appeared relatively straightforward, it taking nealry an hour of endeavour before we got a first breakthrough. This fell to Edwin Jabbari helped with a smart catch from debutant Rezwan Rehman. This was the first of a sustained spell from Jabbari and aided by some accurate seam bowling from Canham and subtle flight from Mr Barker (coming into the match 8 short of 3000 career wickets) a furtehr seven wickets fell before the start of the last twenty overs. At this point the resistance became ever more stubborn, and we had to wait until the fifteenth over before Noori was able to cut one back through the forward defensive shot which had been threatening to frustrate us. Another satisfying win with a contribution from all members of the team, including five making their debut this year.
