Chingford Cricket Club Sat 1st v Fives & Heronians on Sat 09 Jul 2005 at 1330
Chingford Cricket Club Won 7 wickets

Match report Chingford got back to winning ways comprehensively beating Fives by 7 wickets having put them into bat on a damp wicket which proved to be bowler friendly throughout. All seemed comfortable as Gary Edwards(11) and Nick Rotsey (19) plundered 31 for the first wicket off the first 8 overs. The introduction of McMurray to bowl in tandem with Odedra changed the scene dramatically as both openers were dismissed. The run rate slowed to a crawl as wickets fell at regular intervals so that after 40 overs the score read 85 for 7 with 5 wickets falling to Odedra and 2 to McMurray. Leg spinner Bass (1 for 20) and left arm spinner Ben MacGregor (2 for 8) polished off the tail as Fives capitulated to 115 all out with Odedra finishing with the outstanding figures of 5 for 23 from 22 overs. Chingford did not find things easy as Terry Ballard snapped up 3 wickets by the time the score had reached 50. But opener Ben MacGregor (33no) weathered the storm with a gritty innings to support Shaun McMurrays belligerent unbeaten 45 which saw Chingford home to victory by 7 wickets with 10 minutes and 20 overs to spare.
