Match report In a very tight top of the table clash Chingford eventually achieved victory by 5 wickets. Brentwood won the toss and decided to bat in a match which was set to be dominated by the spinners. Walford and Kanitkar progressed gingerly till Walford departed for 11 with the score on 27. A fine partnership of 136 beteween Kanitkar(100) and Brandy(58) seemed to have put Brentwood in command but neither batsman was able to accelerate sufficiently to ensure a large target. The capture of Brandys wicket was to witness a dramatic collapse as 6 wickets fell for just 17 runs. Odedra bowled right through to claim 4 for 76 whilst Bass picked up 3 for 27. Brentwoods total of 185 did not look to be enough but Chingford had to fight all the way against the spin of Belchamber and Kanitkar on a wearing pitch. A superb innings of 88 not out from opener James Hill was to be the key to success after Chingford had slumped to 91 for 4. A partnership of 73 with Sam Kirnon(32) turned the tables whilst a cameo 17 n.o from Billy Rhone relieved the pressure as Chingford eventually finished comfortable winners with 7 balls remaining.
