Match report On a greenish track, in unsettled conditions, Chingford elected to field first. Richard Offord injected some much needed pace into our attack (welcome back Rich!) who after a period of nearly 10 months without bowling a ball in anger, bowled his first ball on a perfect line and length - a sign of the spell to come. Richard, was on occasion unplayable and he deserved more than the one wicket he picked up during his 9 overs.
Harty also bowled well, getting some movement in the air and off the pitch and only really took any tap in his last over, when he was hit 4 times to the leg-side boundary by a batsman who survived a valid appeal for LBW during Harty's previous over!
However, on a track that suited seam rather than spin, it was Thorne & Haig who turned convention on its head and wrapped up the innings. Cookie in particular, bowled with flair, as his figures of 6-32 from 12 overs confirm. Congratulations on his first "Michelle" - the way he's been bowling this year, it shouldn't be his last!
The bowlers were backed up by some good fielding (Fletch in particular deserves a mention) and a good team spirit.

Our form continued with the bat. Needing 170 to win, we reached our target with the loss of only 2 wickets. Fletcher continued his form from last week with an unbeaten 74, ably aided by Bagpuss, who was just shy of a half-century at the close. Special mention must be made of that glorious back foot off-drive - the shot of the season so far!

This was the third team's first win of the season and it was achieved in some style.
