Scorecard

Wickford v Chingford Cricket Club Sat 3rd on Sat 16 Jul 2005 at 1330
Chingford Cricket Club Won 89 runs

Match report Unsure what to do if he won the toss, Dan Carver was grateful to have lost it and Chingford were asked to bat. It is never easy fielding first under a hot sun and Wickford took 3 hours and 10 minutes to bowl 48 overs. Fletcher and Joslin with a partnership of 105 made it even harder. Fletcher's first 50 came off just 48 balls and Joslin's 50 came off only 36 balls. The wicket was a bit slow and a bit bouncy with the odd ball keeping low.
In the field, Chingford took regular wickets, with Offord managing to find the edge of the bat for once. Wickford were concerned with scoring runs and at no stage attempted to shut up shop, even though they seemed unlikely to get close to our 280. The return of Coulson to take the last 3 wickets enables a finish before 7.30pm. We only bowled 39 back and won with about 6 overs to spare.
