Match report Paul Hart a member of the last season's Chingford team captained the C Team. This was not the same Ilford side as the side who lost to Chingford last season, but a side of colts that was entered in the division when the South Woodford B team pulled out. Mark Campbell and Richard Coulson opened the batting. Richard fell early on and with Mark, settled and starting to look at reaching 25, he also fell. This brought together David Joslin and Richard Macgregor. David was bringing to the wicket, his form of last week. Richard was bringing to this wicket his form from 1991. Both reached 25, relying more on the back wall than the side walls, and retired. A swift 13 not out from skipper Paul Hart and batting practise for Adam Campbell, meant that Chingford reached a very high score of 113.
Macgregor and Hart opened the bowling, (indoor cricket is a different game you know) and kept the lid on the Ilford colts. Both bowlers picked up a couple of wickets, with Paul's three overs costing just 6 runs. Then it was the turn of the young left arm over bowlers, Adam and Richard. They helped keep things tight from both their overs. Richard picked up a wicket. However, with 2 overs left in the innings, Ilford ran out of batsmen, finishing on 53 all out. Victory by 60 runs. This puts Chingford B level on points with Chingford C at the top of the table.
