Match report One of those Sunday's that you could have been better off doing something else. A conference fixture miss-matched us against a Dulwich side packed with 1st XI players. Having travelled all the way down to South London, we had to watch their batters take advantage of the better, dryer condiitions. The rain got worse as the day progressed. In reply, once we had lost early wickets, carrying on was futile. It was too wet to continue and Dulwich finally thought better of trying to force a win and the sides agreed to halt further proceedings.

In a rain effected match, Skipper Richard Beeching decided to bat first The opening pair of Anil Mahey and Ty Hopes looked very confident, sadly Anil was out for one and Ty Hopes' innings gathered an elegant momentum and casually stroked the ball to the four corners of the outfield. Ty was joined by the ebullient Mark Kelly who thundered the ball to the boundary before falling to a excellent caught and bowled and Raj Tulsiani fell quite quickly to a cleverly flighted ball. Glenn Bowley with a rapid 22 off 14 balls in a supporting role to Ty who was calmly compiling a score.and Richard Farrow on one of his rare occasions acted in a further supporting role assisted Ty Hopes to a well crafted 100 not out. Dulwich declared at 178 for 4 in only 32 overs. (see photo gallery)
Chingford upon opening their innings facing two spinners sadly made no effort to chase Dulwich's score, and as the rain decided to continue, the position that Anil Mahey had put the team in by taking 3 wickets for 11 runs and Chris Wilson of 1 wicket for 11, the game sadly was called off.
