Match report A new look B team nearly pulled off a sensational win in their first league match on Saturday against the As. Truptesh Patel and Sanjay Sharma, both playing their first indoor league matches for Chingford, opened the batting. Sharma went early on but Peter Shawyer joined Patel and these two took control of the match with some astute batting. Both reached 25 and retired. Peters accelerated the scoring and looked like matching them until he got himself out. Thorne and Richard MacGregor took the score past 100 and then both got out to allow Patel and Shawyer to return round off the innings. In the field, sharma opened the bowling and cleverley used variation of pace to keep the batting in check. MacGregor applied the pressure and after tying down Shawyer, bowled him neck and crop. Rhone was quickly dismissed in the same manner by Sharma. MacGregor then beat Whitfield in the flight and Patel took the sharp catch. The A team were now feeling the pressure that the fielders were putting them under. This pressure resulted in the run outs of Fletcher and MacGregor. O'Sullivan was left as last man standing, and struggling to get bat on ball in the last over with only a handful of runs needed. Luckily we got his pads to the ball and the target was reached with a leg bye.
