Match report After rain delayed the start by 20 minutes, Chingford won the toss and elected to field. Three early wickets from Jon Dyers and Steve Piper put Buckhurst Hill on the back foot but good middle order batting steadied their innings. After a further rain shower which took all the shine off the ball the spinners came on with Paul Adshead bowling particularly well and picking up three wickets. Eventually Steve Piper was brought back and he finished off the tail quickly to record excellent figures of 5 for 25.

In reply a superb opening stand of 110 in good time led by Peter Joslin with support from Marc Fletcher set the base for a successful run chase. After a slight setback which saw both openers and Darren Ross depart within a short space of time, Jon Dyers and Mike Lyon batted sensibly to take Chingford to victory.
