Match report Chingford won the toss and put West Essex in to bat on a green pitch. Good early bowling by Andy Perrin and birthday-boy Mike Lyon reduced West Essex to 26 for 4 before a partial recovery was made by the fifth wicket pairing. The introduction of Andrew Chipchase and the return of Andy Perrin for his second spell put the visitors in control. When Yogi Flora took the last wicket West Essex had been bowled out for 97. Although not our best bowling performance it was nevertheless highly effective well supported by some good catches by Mike Lyon, Yogi Flora, Andy Chipchase and Paul Shawyer.

In reply Chingford had a slight stutter when the score was 14 when Marc Fletcher and Richard Alston (golden duck!) went in successive balls. However the experience of Darren Ross supported by Paul Shawyer and Mike Lyon took Chingford to a good win with something to spare.
